Innovation always trumps Recession in America

Employers view the recession as a time to raise their benchmark in hiring. While many employers throughout the globe may be holding off on hiring or even cutting back, leading corporations with developing organizations cannot afford to stand still. Creativity and competition do not know recessionary times. The challenge for employers is managing tighter recruiting budgets while keeping in mind that the "faucet" of hiring top quality candidates can never be turned off.

ROI – Return on Investment

One of the most lasting effects of this present recession is the ability to do more with less.

This means less money, less people, less physical space. Corporate executives, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and your average worker are making a concerted effort to be economically conservative.

Every penny today counts. And yet – we are seeing companies make generous financial offers to promising candidates. “Water Walkers” are receiving quality packages. Savvy companies know this is a wise ROI.

A Positive Trend

New Dimensions in Technology is seeing a positive trend…Companies that have been holding off from hiring until Q2 now have a need to selectively hire exceptional talent to service new and existing customers.

Be aware that companies that assume that the best talent is easy to find and attract in this job market are assuming wrong. Companies who are waiting too long to conduct the interview process and not courting exceptional talent will experience the loss of some of the best talent to more exciting job opportunities. Exceptional talent in this market continues to have multiple opportunities to consider.

NEWS FROM THE MASSACHUSETTS JOBS FRONTLINE……

Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed an increasing number of skilled technology professionals being asked back to their jobs by their former employers. Many of these professionals had been laid off in the Fall and early Winter of 2008. As optimism begins to grow and business begins to expand once more, companies are likely to reach out to their top performers as an efficient and cost-effective method for filling employment gaps with minimal down time.

Word to the wise….Employers who are currently interviewing top talent….Do not delay your interview process with a strong candidate. If you wait too long, they are likely to have another offer and/or be asked to rejoin a prior employer.
